Franklyn Smith is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in renewable energy systems, manufacturing, and R&D. As the Vice President of Growth at Claros, he leads strategic initiatives to expand the company’s impact, focusing on energy stewardship in grid-to-chip power delivery systems for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) datacenter infrastructure.
Prior to joining Claros, Franklyn served as Director of Commercial Power Products at Epirus, Inc., and Director of Corporate Development and Government Relations at NexGen Power Systems. He has also held program management, operations management, and research faculty roles at EaglePicher Technologies, SunEdison, and the University of Central Florida. His expertise spans semiconductors, hydrogen production, batteries, and solar energy, and his strategic vision continues to shape the future of clean energy and technological innovation.
Franklyn holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology. A recognized thought leader, he has co-published over 45 journal articles (with more than 800 citations) and holds five patents in hydrogen and clean fuels process development.
